Assessment at Gympie Central State School is devised as
‘Assessment of Learning’ and ‘Assessment for Learning’. ‘Assessment for
Learning’ is used to diagnose areas of need so teachers can explicitly target
student learning requirements.
‘Assessment of Learning’ provides information as
to where students are performing academically against the Australian Curriculum
achievement standards. These assessment items, often referred to as summative
assessment, help our teachers to make consistent and accurate judgements of
student work before being used as the basis for reporting.
All summative
assessment pieces undergo intra and inter school moderation processes to ensure
consistency of judgement.
